Idaho has 8 standalone Part D plans, with premiums from $5.30 to $238 a month. The right plan depends on your drug list, so call or text Personal Touch at 208-350-9933 before December 7.

The 2027 Part D Numbers

Part D is Medicare's prescription drug coverage. You get it either inside a Medicare Advantage plan or as a standalone plan next to Original Medicare and a Medigap policy. Every year CMS resets the standard benefit, and for 2027 both headline numbers went up.

Standard deductible$615$700
Annual out-of-pocket threshold (cap)$2,100$2,400

The cap is the good news that stays: once your share of covered drug costs reaches $2,400 in 2027, you pay nothing more for covered drugs that year. The deductible is the part people feel in January, and plans are allowed to set a lower one.

Here is the trap: the cheapest premium is not the cheapest plan. A low-premium plan with the full $700 deductible can cost you more over the year than a higher-premium plan that skips the deductible on your drugs. The only way to know is to price your own list.

Drugs With Medicare Negotiated Prices in 2027

CMS lists 15 Part D drugs whose negotiated prices go into effect on January 1, 2027 (CMS Drug Price Negotiation Program): Austedo and Austedo XR, Breo Ellipta, Calquence, Ibrance, Janumet and Janumet XR, Linzess, Ofev, Otezla and Otezla XR, Ozempic, Rybelsus and Wegovy, Pomalyst, Tradjenta, Trelegy Ellipta, Vraylar, Xifaxan and Xtandi. A negotiated price lowers what Medicare plans pay for the drug. What you pay at the counter still depends on your plan's tier, deductible and pharmacy, which is why we check your plan, not the headline.

Spreading Drug Costs Over the Year

If a big January bill worries you, the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan lets you pay your out-of-pocket drug costs in monthly amounts through your plan instead of all at once at the pharmacy. Medicare is clear that it does not lower your total cost, it just spreads it out. It can help when one prescription is expensive early in the year.

How We Compare Drug Plans

We take your list, every drug, dose and how often you fill it, plus your pharmacy, and price it against the 2027 plans we represent. You see the total for the year: premiums plus deductible plus copays. If you are on Medicare Advantage, we check the drug coverage inside your plan the same way. Then we tell you plainly which one fits.
